Alish Neeha and Khusbu's happiness knew no bound when they stepped into the St.Jospeh Girls High School ,Ranchi along with Susmita Pradhan for their Admission on 7th September 2013. Alish Neeha Khusbu aged 5,7 and 9 respectively were 3 daughters of poor Mariyam
Runda of Shamlong Village . Mariyam is a maid servant who run to pillar to post to work in the apartment of Lakhani Enclaves Shamlong for Rs. 1500/- to feed her 3 daughters and her drunkard husband who is a mentally abnormal person. Mariyam's husband is a regular drunkard and least bothered about the family . Mariyam works hard so that children would not go to bed with empty stomach . With her meagre income she could only feed the children and nothing else. She could not afford her 5 months wage to enrol her children in school .Her elder daughter Alish and 2 nd daughter Khusboo started going to other's field to work as child labour to transplant paddy and earn Rs 40 to 50 per day .
They had already missed the childhood as Alish who was enrolled in the government school once upon a time had to dropped out from the school due to acute poverty . Life was miserable for them. Mariyam was hopeless and helpless. Everyday her daughters follow Mariyam when she came to work in the apartment. Susmita saw the plight of the children as the children . She was in tear when she saw the helpless children . These children who were supposed to be in school at their age were looking dirty and playing in the basement of the apartment. Susmita Pradhan brought the children to her house and washed them with water and made them clean . the children were very much frightened to sit
eve on the chairs in Susmita House . Susmita started to take care of these children. Mariyam was very much scared to talk but with her love Susmita could come closer to Mariyam .Children were allowed to watch the TV in her house when their mother works and let them go when her mother finish her work. Slowly Susmita took interest to teach some alphabets to the children .She saw the interest of the children to learn and read. It become regular habit of the children to come to Susmita and to spend time in her house to watch TV to see cartoon network and to learn alphabet. Susmita could see possibilities in these children to be a beautiful students. . By seeing the interest of the children to learn alphabets in Susmita's home Susmita thought to enrol the children in any local school . Susmita discussed this with her husband an with her neighbour Meena Daniel , who is a house wife and mother of 2 kids .Along with her neighbour Meena Daniel one day Susmita went to the St.Joseh Girls High school and talked to the Principal regarding the admission of these dropout children in the School and could convince the principal. School principal agreed to take the admission of the children provided the children to qualify in the admission test . Apart from that, Principal also agreed to take the admission fees for these 3 children which was more than 6000 in 3 instalments. on 6th September the
children were taken to school where they appeared the admission test and Susmita purchased books , uniforms for 3 girls . The expenses for the admission and the expenses for books and uniform was more than 9000/ for 3 children which was a big amount for Susmita yet she was determined to bear those expenses to give a new life to 3 helpless dropout children . Finally Her dream came true when she saw the 3 children going to school smilingly . Now these 3 children are regular in school .A new journey started in the life of Alisha Neeha and Khusbu. It is
a new Beginning only . Now they have to Move forward. Your prayer is solicited in this endeavour of Susmita . There are thousands of Alisha Neeha and Khusbu who are still helpless and hopeless, who needs care and support from us who lives in our neighbourhood. Come let us make this world a better place for children where they can grow , live and enjoy a life with peace, dignity and justice. Yes You can . Yes We can do it..
